About Us

We are a family of four living in Northern Indiana. We enjoy spending time together doing all sorts of fun things and learning about all that life has to teach us. A little over a year ago, we began homeschooling our daughter, and since then, we've become even closer and have grown so much in our thinking and behaviors. We're excited to share our lives with you and to use this format to preserve the everyday goings on in the early years of our children. We hope you enjoy reading here and that you'll find something useful to take back to your own families.

So, let me take a moment to introduce everyone. First, there's boo. She's currently in third grade, and she's loving the homeschool life. When she's not doing schoolwork or attending one of the multitude of extracurriculars in which she's involved, you can find her preciding over her stuffed animal council, digging for pet rocks in the backyard, or with her nose in a good book.

Next, there's Gator. At the time of this posting, he's 9 1/2 months old and growing like a weed. He was an unexpected gift to our family, and we can't figure out now how we ever lived without him. His latest tricks include high fives, waving, and pretending to eat your arm. Thanks go out to Dad for teaching him that last one. *sarcasm*

Dad, James, leads are family with a positive presence and strength of character that we all appreciate and applaud. He works for a nonprofit which supports individuals with disabilities and is also nearly finished obtaining a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration. He's a great example for our children having gone back to school an undisclosed number of years after high school graduation. I'm sure he'll be glad to know I didn't betray his age. In his spair time, which is admittedly little at the moment, you'll find him playing with the kids or hanging out with other family. He's also a huge movie buff and has been known to watch the occasional, or maybe more like frequent, football game.

Finally, there's me, Mom. I'm Tricia, and I'm in charge of the day to day goings on at home. Some days, I'm parent, teacher, and playmate all wrapped into one: and I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm a huge trivia fan and rarely miss an episode of Jeopardy or the chance to challenge my family to a game of Trivial Pursuit. I also love to read and will read virtually whatever I can get my hands on. I actually mean that literally because I happen to be almost totally blind making Braille books one of my primary reading sources.

We are all so glad that you've taken time out of your busy schedules and lives to visit us, and we hope you'll return often to see what's new. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns, and please do share with us if anything here resonates with your or benefits your own family. Happy reading.
